Château Cambon La Pelouse

Presentation

Château Cambon La Pelouse is since a long time a very famous wine. The older editions of the Féret Guide include this commentary : "We can say that is one of the oldest in the region and that its products have made a great contribution over the years to the reputation of the wines of the Médoc. " This estate is a perfect example of an Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois. The vines are planted in deep, poor sandy alluviums that look like fields of pebbles. Its proximity to its aristocratic neighbors, Giscours and Cantemerle, give it an extra touch of nobility. The land is also next door to the Margaux appellation area, and this wine has its structure and elegance. They do however need to be laid down for a few years in order to bring out their full elegance and complex flavors. The vineyard was totally replanted in the 70's. In 1996, the estate was taken over by Annick & Jean-Pierre Marie. They have made a large number of investments to renovate it and provide it with the very best equipment. The Château Cambon La Pelouse 's nose reveals a fragrance of leather, gunflint, truffle, liquorice, black and red berries. In the mouth, the wine is balanced, supple, round, silky and the tannins are harmonious. A Great wine on the top of its appellation which proves the qualities of its terroir.
